In today’s environment with ever increasing pressures to ensure that the world is a safer and cleaner place for future generations to live in, there is a requirement from both a moral and legal perspective to reduce waste and its disposal and improve waste treatment.

Many industrial applications produce wastewater effluent that is often highly contaminated and detrimental to the environment. This necessitates that requirement of treatment technologies to decompose toxic industrial wastewater effluents to innocuous products and also aim to improve water quality.

WRK Design has developed the novel DGC reactor which incorporates UV & Ozone technology for treating ‘difficult’ liquid wastes. These wastes often contain very high COD levels, absorbable organic halides, pesticides, colour and odour.

Use of the DGC reactor has also been applied for treatment of farm effluent slurry by stripping Ammonia and the recovery of the Ammonia for use as liquid fertiliser.

Successful applications using the DGC technology include the complete degradation of following industrial wastes:

  • Phenols
  • Organic Solvents such as Methanol, Ethanol, Toluene etc
  • Chlorophenols
  • Dioxins
  • Glycols
  • Polychlorinated Benzenes (PCBs)
  • Pharmaceutical Waste
  • Organic Food Waste
  • Landfill Leachates
  • Endocrine Disrupters

‘WRK Design & Services’ can offer solutions to most of your waste and water treatment problems and offer a consultancy service that will provide the most cost effective solution. Our services will at first include assessment of your process effluent stream, laboratory testing and pilot plant trials at site, to prove the effectiveness of our process. These will be followed with a full scale plant design depending on your requirement.
